It may seem a bit redundant to talk about Oreo when Pie has been out for a few months, many phones still run older versions of Android and need an update. Since it's impossible for all devices to get a newer version of Android, a good many of them will never see a newer version of the operating system. Earlier this year, Asus promised to update all devices eligible for Android Oreo. Today, the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie is starting to get its Oreo update.

The update has a software version of 15.0400.1809.405. Asus says it will take about a week for all users to implement it. In addition to everything that comes with Android 8.0 and 8.1, such as customizable icons and notification channels, the update also has version 5.0 of the ZenUI skin. That means that the software experience should be identical to that of the latest Asus phones, such as the Zenfone 5Z.

Android 8.0 Oreo is now launching the Samsung Galaxy J3 on Verizon

Samsung takes forever to update even its high-end phones, which leaves its mid-range devices and budget in the lurch. Fortunately, Android 8.0 Oreo is being implemented on Samsung's Galaxy J3 on Verizon. The update will reach the Galaxy J3 Eclipse and the Galaxy J3 Mission. It includes all the good things that Oreo presented in the previous phones to get the update, including the image in image for certain applications such as Google Maps and notification points in the icons for applications that have invisible activity.

In addition to the general Android enhancements, the phones also have other new features, such as an updated phone dialer and a high contrast mode for the keyboard. If you have one of these phones and have not yet received it, go to Settings> About Phone> Software Updates and touch Check for updates. Appreciate this, since it can be the last important update of the operating system that receives the device .
